About superprotection.online
We publish plain explanations of consumer computer security for people who are not security professionals, and we are paid by affiliate commission. Both halves of that sentence matter, so we put them in the same sentence.
What we are
superprotection.online is a small editorial site operated by Burksled s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic. It covers one subject: the security of ordinary people’s computers and phones — what the threats actually are, what the software marketed against them actually does, and which measures are worth the money and the effort. Karen Taylor is the responsible editor and signs the articles.
What we are not
- Not a testing laboratory. We do not run malware samples or benchmark products, so we publish no scores of our own. Where detection performance matters, we point readers to AV-TEST and AV-Comparatives, who do the work and publish their method.
- Not a vendor or reseller. Nothing is sold here. We take no orders and process no payments, and we cannot help with anyone’s subscription or refund.
- Not independent of commercial interest. We earn commission when readers buy through our links. We would rather state that at the top of every page than describe ourselves as impartial and hope nobody looks.
How we pay for it
Affiliate commission, and nothing else. A link marked partner link is a commercial link; if you subscribe at the other end, the vendor pays us a share. You pay the vendor’s normal price. We are not paid to write anything favourable, and no advertiser sees a page before you do. The editorial policy sets out in detail what that funding does not buy, including our refusal to publish invented testimonials, invented ratings, artificial urgency or guaranteed-result claims.
The standards we hold ourselves to
Named authorship
Every article carries a real byline, a publication date and a last-reviewed date. Nothing is published anonymously and nothing supplied by an advertiser is published as ours.
Sourced or hedged
If we cannot source a figure, we do not print it. Where something changes — a price, a plan, a test result — we say so and tell you the vendor’s own information prevails.
Visible commerce
Every commercial link is labelled in visible text, carries rel="sponsored nofollow
noopener", and is disclosed above the fold before any promotional content appears.
Open corrections
Errors are corrected on the page, with a note saying what was wrong. Our main article carries a published list of nine claims we removed or corrected when we rewrote it.
Nothing collected
No cookies, no analytics, no pixels, no forms, no third-party requests. We do not know how many people read this. Verify it yourself.
Original illustrations
Every diagram is an original SVG drawn for this site. No stock photography, no product screenshots, nothing loaded from another server.
