Why there is no contact form
A contact form would send your name, your e-mail address and your message to a server and store them there. This site is built on the principle that it collects nothing, and we would rather keep that promise intact than trade it for the convenience of a form. Your own mail client is a better tool anyway: you keep a copy of what you sent, and you know exactly where it went.
No telephone line
We do not operate a telephone number for this website. Everything we publish is written and we would rather answer in writing, so that both sides have a record of what was said. Written requests are answered in writing.
What to write to us about
- A factual error. Give us the page address, the passage and, if you have one, a source. Our corrections procedure sets out what happens next; in short, if you are right we fix it and we say on the page that we did.
- A data protection request under the GDPR — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection. See the privacy policy. Be aware that we usually hold no data about you at all, and we will tell you so honestly.
- A rights or trademark concern. Write with the specific page and the specific material and we will deal with it.
- Editorial and press enquiries.
What we cannot help with
We are an independent publisher, not a vendor, not a reseller and not anyone’s support desk. If you have bought a product after following a link from this site, your contract is with that vendor and we cannot see your order, change your subscription, cancel a renewal or issue a refund. For any of that, contact the vendor’s own support directly. We also cannot provide individual technical support, remove malware from your device, or give legal advice.
